Gurten is a high mountain of 858 meters above sea level situated at the south of Bern.
From the top of the summit, the Jura mountains and the Alps can be observed. Among many amenities on the Gurten, some are restaurants, a hotel and a high viewing tower.
In the middle of July, a music festival named Gurtenfestival is held annually. One can reach the Gurten from Wabern by the Gurten Funicular and Wabern itself can be reached by train or tram from central Bern.
