
The Shawangunk Ridge extends from New jersey to Catskill Mountains and spreads among Ulster County, Sullivan County and Orange County. The ridge has an elevation of 2,289 ft (698 m). It has many public and private areas selected as tourist spots but certainly not heavily populated. The ridge is best known for its outdoor recreation like rock climbing with friendly guides. The place is also regarded as The Nature Conservancy for its scenic character and biodiversity.
