America’s first English industry started in 1608 with glassmaking in Jamestown, Virginia. The British company hoped to make a profit out of glass production. What type of glass and what quantity was produced back then is still unknown. Being re-constructed in recent age, glassblowing is still in practice at Jamestown, Virginia. The glassblowers use tools and methods similar to those of the 17 century to hold authenticity.
