The Manukau

Manukau, meaning settling birds, is the name of the Southern harbour of Tamaki in Auckland. It is named after the godwits and oystercatchers that visit there every summer. From an area perspective, the Manukau Harbour is the second largest natural Harbour of New Zealand. It is situated to the southwest of isthmus, Auckland. Filled with retail outlets, including the huge Westfield Manukau City and Manukau Supa Centa malls, Manukau is known as a busy area. The retail outlets there consist of fashion products, homewares and popular eateries.
